Tentative 2012 Mission Trip News
To our followers we wanted to give all a heads up. Tentatively two mission trips are being planned in their very early stages, one for October of 2012, one for summer of 2013. Wanted you to prayerfully consider either of them. Mission trips into developing countries takes much preparation time, so wanted all to have plenty of time to think about it. Each would be lead by His Arms volunteers who have been travelers in past. Each traveler would have to come up with the funds for their part of it, on their own. But we can tell you from the past, that many friends, family, fellow church goers, etc, are often more then ready to help cover the cost by running fundraisers. In the past, garage sales, Euchre tournaments, suppers etc were part of the way travlers helped pay for their cost. Let us know if you are interested as we start the logistics very early for these trips. If you do not know for sure, no problem, we will still include you in on information/plans/etc which might help you make that decision. May God bless our efforts, and help all that HE wants to take such a trip, find the courage, direction and funds to do so!

July 2011 Mission Trip
This trip consisted of 5 travelers and once again was blessed. This included an Amery WI elementary teacher who actually taught in one of the schools while there. She was assisted by a 15 yr.old Michigan young man who energetically taught the kids, and genuinely shared his enthusiasm and caring with them.
It also included two other women from Michigan who helped visit the orphans in their homes, and offered much caring and support to all the volunteers. Again our His Arms Founder, Nancy Rowe led the group and audited all the bookwork while in Kenya. We strife to maintain sound integrity in our ministry and trying to avoid all corruption which so many other programs in that area have been affected by.
Sponsor Update:
As of November 2011 we now have 48 children being sponsored, plus and additional 75 children receiving primary school scholarships, plus 5 older children receiving high school scholarships. We continue to hear from the community in the greater Maseno Kenya area, who praise the good works coming out of His Arms Orphan Projects. We are blessed by so many great donors and volunteers.
Coordinator Update:
Brenda Cronk, Baldwin WI has agreed to help Nancy Rowe in coordinating this ministry. As we have grown, our work load on the USA end has increased as well. That is a great challenge to have! So we are happy to welcome Brenda Cronk on board. Besides being one of our sponsors, she has traveled on the last two mission trips to Kenya with our group. So she is well versed on the program, and very supportive. We continue to not keep any of the funds in the USA, with Brenda and Nancy donating all their time, plus continuing to cover all cost within the USA to run the project. In Kenya, less then 10% is used for administrative needs, with that mainly being the transportation issues of receiving money transfers, and obtaining all the articles/food/etc for our program. No money is actually given out to our children for any of our Ebenezer or regular Sponsorship to help cut down on corruption. Instead the products are purchased at area markets, then transported to our children.
